TWA Projects
Red Rocket Express - Began Summer 2023
TWA will be launching a new program in the summer of 2023 to aid highly skilled women and members of the LGBT community in immigrating to Canada.
The scope of oppression has expanded from LGBTQ+ issues to encompass all women. TWA has responded by incorporating women of diverse backgrounds into its programs, a progressive and uplifting initiative that resonates with our community.
"When anyone is oppressed, we are all oppressed."
We collaborate with Canada's leading employers to relocate individuals and their families to a secure and respectful community.
Boots & Coats - Annual Fall Program
Imagine being presented with two options: A) a pair of used boots and a used coat to keep warm and dry during a Canadian winter or, B) the chance to purchase a brand new pair of boots and a new winter coat, along with a meal out while shopping. Which choice would help enhance your dignity and self-confidence, and facilitate lasting life improvements?
Boots & Coats' success is determined by the women who receive assistance and the numerous positive results of the program.
Trans Memorial
The Trans Memorial, situated in Barbara Hall Park, Toronto, Ontario, was established in July 2014 as a space to grieve the untimely loss of numerous Trans individuals.
The Trans Memorial is a poignant tribute, created with chalk as a symbol of the fleeting nature of Trans lives. Visitors are encouraged to add a name to the memorial in chalk and are also invited to spread the word about its location on social media. If you identify as Trans and would like to contribute to the preservation of Canada's first Trans Memorial, sharing photos and information on social media is a meaningful way to participate in a collective effort toward self-care and advocacy.
